About NABH

The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) was established in 2006 as part of the Quality Council of India (QCI). It operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, and is the principal accreditation body for healthcare organisations in the country.

NABH accreditation is a recognition that a hospital meets prescribed standards of quality in terms of infrastructure, clinical care, patient safety, and support services. It is modelled on international best practices and is recognised by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua).

The accreditation framework evaluates hospitals across 10 chapters covering over 600 objective elements. These chapters address both patient-centric and organisation-management functions, ensuring a holistic approach to healthcare quality.
